A few days ago, we told you about the Vice President of PlayStation Turkey’s statement that The Last of Us would be coming to the PS4 this summer. Well, of course we weren’t the only ones to report the story, and Polygon went a step further and asked Sony for an official statement on the matter.

Sony replied, “At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject.”

While that isn’t the same as saying it’s not coming to the PS4, it at least clarifies that it wasn’t a planned announcement. It could be a mistake, or it could just be information they aren’t ready to share yet.

In the meantime, Spanish retailer XtraLife has made The Last of Us Complete Edition for PS4 available for preorders, with a release date of June 19. Unlike a lot of these incidents where an unannounced game appears on a retailer’s site, this listing is still there, and the release date matches up with the “summer” statement.

We’ll keep waiting for an official announcement. In the meantime, all we can say is that these are just rumors.
