If you’re like us, then you’ll prefer playing first person shooters with the help of a keyboard and mouse, something that obviously isn’t possible (at the moment) with either the Playstation 4 or the Xbox One. It also probably means that you’ve been getting dominated online thanks to the clumsy control schemes offered by the DualShock 4 or Xbox One controller.

It looks like your time getting owned online could be about to come to an end thanks to a new XIM adapter for next generation consoles that is currently being worked on. As you’ll note from watching the video embedded below, the new XIM works with the Xbox One currently, but there are plans to get it up and running the PS4 too.

This “next generation of adapter” also has a few other new advantages too, with you being able to configure it wirelessly via an Android mobile app. Previously, with the Xbox 360/PS3 adapter, you needed to hook it up to your PC. The XIM 4 will be out later this year and is currently undergoing internal testing. We understand that a limited beta will also be undertaken for those who purchased certain previous XIM products.
