By the time December 1 arrived a few days ago, Sony had sold over 2.1 million Playstation 4 consoles, a pretty impressive feat by any measure!
Sony has also said that the 2.1m figure includes 700,000 consoles sold in Europe and Australasia (that’s Australia and NZ) during their launch weekends. And just in case you were wondering, the numbers represent consoles actually sold to consumers, not just shipped to retailers.
Sony President and CEO Jack Tretton said he wants to see three million PS4 consoles sold worldwide before the end of the year. If Sony can keep up this pace (and keep the manufacturing factories pumping them out) then that goal should be reached no problem.
